July 2025 Study #1
Abraham – Genesis 12:1-9
Open It:
If you could choose any place in the world to move to, starting a completely new life, where would it be and why? What challenges and opportunities do you think you'd face?
Dig Into It:
Read Genesis 12:1-9
What specific commands and promises did God give to Abram in verses 1-3? How might these promises have both excited and challenged Abram?
How did Abram respond to God's call (v. 4-6)? What does this reveal about his character and faith, especially considering his age and circumstances?
What significant action did Abram take in verses 7-8, and why might this have been important for his spiritual journey?
Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran. Who went with him, and what challenges might this have presented (v. 4)?
What pattern do you notice in Abram's journey as described in verse 9? How might this nomadic lifestyle have impacted his faith and relationship with God?
Reflect On It:
Have you ever felt God calling you to step out in faith like Abram did? How did you respond, and what were the results of your decision?
In what ways can you relate to Abram's journey of faith? How have you experienced uncertainty or challenges in following God's leading in your life?
How do you think Abram's obedience affected his relationship with God? Has obedience to God's call strengthened or changed your own relationship with Him?
What challenges might Abram have faced in following God's call? How do these compare to the challenges we might face today when following God's direction?
How can Abram's example inspire us in our own walk with God? What specific lessons from his life can we apply to our faith journeys, especially when facing significant life changes or challenges?
Pray About It:
Thank God for His faithfulness in keeping His promises. Ask for the courage to step out in faith when God calls. Pray for discernment to recognize God's leading in your life.
